From the show: The unbelievable horse show, APASSIONATA, is coming to The Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA on May 11-13. 


APASSIONATA has been Europe’s most popular live arena show for nearly a decade, thrilling more than five million fans across 15 countries with a breathtaking display of the beauty and the bond between horse and rider, man's strongest and most trusted animal. Now APASSIONATA comes to North America to take audiences through a magical adventure featuring more than 40 horses and exhilarating equine stunts by the world’s best performers. 


Breeds from Shetland ponies to Friesians and their riders have been brought from Europe to create this evocative theatrical event. Each horse is ridden by equestrians from families who have honed their craft on a single breed, going back sometimes hundreds of years. With graceful horsemanship, enchanting music, and magnificent liberty dressage, this equestrian sensation captivates families and horse lovers alike. Directed by Scott Faris (“Walking with Dinosaurs”) and featuring an award-winning Broadway creative team, APASSIONATA “THE BEGINNING” is sure to give audiences of all ages an unforgettable experience. 


The mounting success of this show overseas had the producer, Peter Massine, turn his attention to North America. His US partner, longtime entertainment specialist, Tanya Grubich, has been working for many years now with Peter on making this vision become a reality. In preparation for the North American debut in Louisville this April (one week before the Derby) Apassionata’s finest teams are training horses all over Europe. Apassionata represents a caliber of entertainment that has the equestrian community abuzz and we are certain that the magic and beauty of this show will enthrall ticket buyers of all ages.
